| Losing Malcom Carol Henderson takes us on an emotional journey in Losing Malcolm. The book is about a mother who gives birth to a baby boy to find out later that he has a serious heart murmur. The author walks us through the loss of her infant son and how her life changed because of his death. She describes the raw grief in the beginning and all the feelings that go along with that. Then she takes us through her healing process. I found that this book helped me see that we can survive the darkest days of our lives and that I am not alone. Carol goes through the struggles of feeling alienated and alone which occur after such a tragedy. In the end, she shows us how she found comfort and support by talking to other bereaved mothers, she sought out help from a wonderful therapist and eventually she found the courage to have another child. This book would be helpful to families, friends and caregivers. |
