James William Ellington died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at his home in York, South Carolina, of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006.

Will was the beloved infant son of Mary Best and James "Trip" Ellington, now of Greensboro. Born May 8, 2006, he was the grandson of the late James M. Ellington, formerly of Greensboro. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Jeannette Ellington of Sunset Beach, formerly of Greensboro; his maternal grandparents are Will and Frances Best of Greensboro. 

Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins including Jay and Jalynne Ellington, Johnny and Erynn Ellington, Hudson Best, and Joe and Alyson Best, all of Greensboro, Dean and Jackie Best of Walnut Cove, and Mark and Bobbie Cook of Apex. 

In his short life, Will brought great joy to many. He will always be remembered, loved and missed.

Adored daughter, precious baby sister and delightful grand-baby, Summer Ann Johnson, went to sit on Jesus' lap on July 24, 2015. Her parents were blessed with her on May 15, 2015. A service to celebrate Summer [was held] at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29th in the Hanes-Lineberry Chapel located at 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro NC. The Reverend John Miller [officiated]. The burial [followed] at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Summer had bright happy eyes and a beautiful little smile that warmed her family's hearts like sunshine. While she was only here for a short time she has left a lifetime of cherished laughter and treasured memories. She is survived by her parents, Bobby Emanuel Johnson and Leigh Ann Splawn of Greensboro; big brother, Julian; maternal great grandmothers; Barbara Haynes of Shelby, NC and Betty Splawn of Boiling Springs, NC; grandparents, Don and Debbie Splawn of Mooresboro, NC. Survivors also include her paternal great grandmother Mary O. Johnson and numerous aunts, uncles and extended family. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jessie Emanuel and Annie Ruth Johnson and her maternal great-grandfathers, Frank Splawn and Johnny Haynes.

Barbara Ellison Forman, 63, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. A funeral service [was] held on Monday, June 8th at 4:00pm at Temple Emanuel, Rabbis Fred Guttman and Andy Koren officiating. Burial to follow at the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery on High Point Rd. Born September 8, 1951, a Greensboro native, Barbara lived her life fearlessly. She was outspoken, extraordinarily generous and extremely talented. A member of the NC Woodworkers Association, she devoted a great deal of her time to creating wooden urns for unidentified fallen veterans and angel ornaments for bereaved parents. Besides her family, doing for others was her greatest passion. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jeanne Ellison and grandson, Jagger Ellison Kern. She [was] survived by her husband of 27 years, Richard Forman, daughter Lauren Kern, granddaughter Imaly Harris; three step-children, Rhyan Kime (Bo), Regan Forman Gross (Oded), Daniel Forman (Melissa); seven additional grandchildren, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Noa, Asher, Robert, Declan and Ronan; her sister Patricia Cegles (Bill), brother Stephen Ellison, two nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartstrings Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support 233 W. Mountain St. Kernersville, NC 27284 or Temple Emanuel of Greensboro 1129 Jefferson Rd. Greensboro, NC 27410 May her memory be a blessing to all whose lives she touched. Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home [had] the honor of assisting the Forman family.

Richard "Dick" Forman

RICHARD DICK CHARLES FORMAN, 86, of Greensboro, departed from this life on January 7, 2016, at Moses Cone Hospital.  Funeral service will be held at Temple Emanuel's Jefferson Road Campus on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery. Husband of Barbara Forman (of blessed memory), father of Daniel (Melissa) Forman and Rhyan (Robert) Kime, and Regan (Oded) Gross; step-father to Lauren Kern; and grandfather of eight, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Noa, Asher, Robert, Imaly, Declan, and Ronan.Dick was born September 9, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to Daniel and Belle Forman. He was a member and past president of Temple Emanuel, graduate of the University of Georgia and Emory University, and owned the law firm of Richard C. Forman Law. Dick was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Jaycees, and was one of the longest-tenured members of Starmount Forest Country Club. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.  May his memory be a blessing to all whose lives he touched.
